Overview: TIE Member Insurance Program

Term Life Insurance
TIE currently offers three options: 1) a traditional group term life plan with 5-year rate bands; 2) a 10-year-level group term life plan; and 3) a group accidental death and dismemberment plan. All are underwritten by New York Life Insurance Company.
TIE's group disability income protection plan from New York Life offers two different benefit duration options:
5-year or to-age-65.
Professional Liability Insurance
TIE members are eligible for the nation's second-largest professional liability program for educators, offering specialized insurance plans for: employed teachers, administrators and school staff; educators who are independent contractors or in private practice; school psychologists and counselors; and student teachers.
Auto & Home Insurance
TIE members receive an additional discount in most states off GEICO's regular rates for auto, motorcycle, and boat insurance. GECIO now also offers homeowners, renters and umbrella liability coverage to its auto insurance customers.
TIE offers access to competitively priced health insurance for individuals and small groups through Assurant Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare and other major networks. Options include health savings accounts, health reimbursement plans and short-term medical plans.
Long-Term Care Insurance
Through TIE's Long-Term Care Insurance Evaluation Service, a member can compare multiple long-term care insurance plans offered by leading companies and choose the combination of features, rates, and benefits that suits his or her needs. Some plans feature a special association member discount.
Members can also access cancer insurance, Medicare Supplement insurance, ID theft protection, and international travel / medical insurance.
