A Different Kind
of Health Plan

  • Created exclusively for educators and their families

  • Owned and governed by member school districts

The Missouri Educators Unified Health Plan is a non-profit, self-funded health plan formed “by Missouri schools, for Missouri schools” to ensure high-quality health care for their employees.

The healthy choice for district employees

MEUHP offers multiple health plan options, each dedicated to providing superior health care for school employees and their families.

Popular Providers

Members have access to top-tier local providers, including Barnes Jewish Hospital, University of Missouri Hospital, University of Kansas Medical Center, and Mercy Health System, as well as an extensive nationwide provider network.

Convenient Ancillary Plans

MEUHP’s convenient enrollment platform gives members one-stop access to high-quality voluntary insurance plans, such as term life, disability, dental, and vision, that they can purchase through pre-tax, payroll deduction.

Unique Ways to Save

MEUHP is always looking for ways to lower the cost of care. One example is our Cost Saver Program, which helps members find the low-cost provider for many common procedures — and pays incentives up to $500 for members who use the low-cost option.

Distinctive Service

MEUHP's program manager, FTJ, provides a unique level of personalized service. With regional reps in every corner of the state and a Kansas City-based call center, FTJ helps members bypass the bureaucracy and get the most out of their health plan.

Focus on Wellness

Wellness is more than a catchphrase for MEUHP. Financial incentives reward members for making healthy lifestyles choices, and MEUHP-sponsored health audits and screenings have literally saved member lives.

The FTJ advantage

With regional representatives in all corners of the state and headquarters staff in Kansas City, FTJ provides MEUHP members with a premium level of personalized service not offered by other health plans.

The right choice for school districts

As an independent, non-profit health plan, MEUHP is a fully transparent solution to the challenge of rising health care costs.

Strength & Stability

Missouri school districts like yours participate in the MEUHP, providing strength, stability, and leadership in the common pursuit of cost-effective, high-quality health care for district employees and their familes.

Fully Transparent

There are no secrets in the MEUHP. All participating districts are privy to all financial reports, trends and projections, and detail on every cost and claims expenditure of the health plan. Districts know how their health dollars are being put to work.

Premiums Pay for Care

Because MEUHP is a non-profit health plan, more than 90 percent of all  premium dollars paid by districts are returned to members in benefits and wellness services. Only a small fraction is needed for administrative costs.

District Driven

MEUHP is a self-funded health plan owned and managed by the participating school districts. Superintendents from those districts elect a nine-member board of their peers to guide the MEUHP and make all financial and policy decisions.

The best of the best

Through partnerships with industry-leading services and care providers, MEUHP provides top-quality health care for school employees and their families.

Superindentent, Craig R-III

Dr. Matt Copeland

As we deal with rising health care costs, MEUHP has been transparent and explanatory during the entire process. Our district believes that we have a partner that is willing to work with us and fight for us on behalf of our staff.

CFO, Fulton Public Schools

Jennifer Milligan

The entire FTJ team has earned a reputation for responding quickly and resolving issues effectively. They provide the technical support and software that was missing in our [former] plan, which has dramatically reduced errors and processing time each month … We appreciate being a part of the MEUHP family.

Superintendent, Brookfield R-III

Eric Hoyt

MEUHP prioritizes customer service, and the FTJ staff are always available to meet the needs of our employees. Billing, enrollment, and renewal are seamlessly integrated with FTJ, making it easy for district personnel to administer.
