FTJ Announces Move to New Office Tower

FTJ Announces Move to New Office Tower

For the first time in 55 years, Forrest T. Jones & Company (FTJ) will call a new address home.

The company has announced the leasing of 75,000 square feet of Class A office space in the 2600 Grand Office Tower, a 14-story office building at 2600 Grand Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri’s Crown Center redevelopment area.

FTJ will occupy three-and-a-half upper floors beginning in January 2026.

“This new space will provide a first-class working environment for FTJ associates and allow the company to continue its 70-year trajectory of growth and success,” said FTJ President Rick Jones.

FTJ will share the new space with its younger corporate siblings: Fidelity Security Life Insurance Company (FSL) and Fidelity Security Assurance Company (FSAC).

The 2600 Grand Office Tower is situated on the south edge of downtown Kansas City within walking distance of the historic Union Station and Liberty Memorial, home to the National Word War I Museum and Memorial. The national prominent Crown Center redevelopment area features restaurants, shops, hotels, and entertainment venues integrated with 1.8 million square feet of office space, including the headquarters of Hallmark Cards, Inc.

FTJ will be leaving its long-time headquarters at 3130 Broadway Boulevard in Kansas City, which is roughly a mile south of its new location. The six-story building on Broadway was developed by FTJ founder Forrest Jones and opened in 1966 with The Continental Casualty Company as its anchor tenant.

Jones did not move his own companies to the building until 1970, at which time they occupied a single floor. By the early 2000s, FTJ and FSL had absorbed all the space at 3130 Broadway, as well as the smaller Salt Building next door.

“There are a lot of fond memories and good times at 3130 Broadway,” Rick Jones said. “We’re going to miss the place. But it’s time to make new memories in a new place that positions our companies for the future.”
